TOKYO, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average is expected to weaken on Thursday after disappointing U.S. data suggested the economic recovery is shakier than hoped, with exporters such as Canon Inc under pressure from a stronger yen. Investors may focus on Nikon Corp after the Japanese precision equipment and camera maker warned on Wednesday its operating loss would be more than double its initial estimate this year as it wrote down the value of unsold chipmaking gear.
