Nikkei flat but buyers seek auto shares

TOKYO, May 13 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average was flat on Friday after opening marginally higher following gains by U.S. stocks on a rise in defensive shares, but volatility in commodity stocks and worries about Greece's debt problems soured the mood.
