Nikkei set to fall after Wall St slide on bank fears

TOKYO, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average is likely to fall on Monday, with financial shares seen under pressure after the U.S. Dow industrials ended at a 6-1/2-year low on fears the U.S. government may be forced to nationalise some big banks.

Daiichi Sankyo Co may be in focus after the Nikkei business daily said the drugmaker plans to launch as early as 2011 a new influenza preventive drug. [ID:nT281502]
