Nissan says Q1 results not far off expectations

TOKYO, July 25 (Reuters) - Nissan Motor Co.'s , first-quarter profit results were not too far from its expectations, an executive at Japan's second-biggest car maker said on Tuesday.

After stripping out the one-off cost of 23 billion yen ($200 million) in warranty costs for engine trouble in North America, the 26 percent fall in operating profit was basically within expectations, Corporate Vice President Joji Tagawa told a news conference.
