NY gold ends at 18-year high on fund buying spree

NEW YORK, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Benchmark U.S. gold futures rose 1.6 percent on Thursday to finish at an 18-year peak, as investment funds stampeded into the market on expectations of higher prices to come, traders and analysts said.
