Sales of 4-wheel-drive vehicles in August rose 4.6% from July to a record 16,794 units, Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show. The ABS says the 4WD, or SUV, segment was the only sector to see an increase in sales from the prior-month. Passenger-car sales fell 4.2% from July, while other vehicles slipped 0.8%.
