Canada automotive sales continued to cruise in August, racking up their third consecutive month of gains and raising the number of months with increases over like-1998 to seven. Total vehicle sales — including estimates for some medium- and heavy-duty makes, which will report actual data later this month — numbered 124,697, for a daily selling rate (DSR) of 4,988, 13.5% above August 1998's 4,394 (25 selling days both periods).
