PARIS – Automobiles Citroen reveals its Geneva concept car that presages the DS4 over three days on its Facebook page.

The DS High Rider is a hybrid coupe emphasizing a compact footprint 68 ins. (428 cm) long, 72 ins. (183 cm) wide and 58 ins. (147 cm) high.

It utilizes PSA Peugeot Citroen’s Hybrid4 approach that has a diesel engine driving the front wheels and an electric motor moving the rear wheels.

Citroen already has promised the coming DS5 will be a hybrid, and the presentation of this concept car indicates it will be offered in a hybrid version, as well, when the model eventually arrives on the market.

Citroen’s DS line is an attempt to attract car buyers interested in more character than the family-oriented models C3, C4 and C5. The DS5 is scheduled to arrive on the market in 2011, and the DS4 sometime after.

The Facebook reveal was a first for Citroen, which over three days posted ever more detailed photos of the car.

The DS High Rider features a windshield that wraps into the roof, front air scoops and large chrome chevrons above the grille.

Citroen says the design does not try to express its dynamics but rather is aimed at being harmonious, a “beautiful automobile.”

The DS High Rider officially will be presented at the Geneva auto show next month.
