A Texas judge has granted nationwide class-action status to a lawsuit against DaimlerChrysler Corp. that alleges seatbelts in Chrysler vehicles easily can unlatch in an accident. According to the lawsuit, an estimated 14 million vehicles are fitted with a faulty seatbelt buckle, known as the Gen 3, which has a release button that protrudes beyond the cover.
