European auto makers faced another year of disappointment, as auto sales remained in reverse in 2003. Total sales in Western Europe were off 1.9% in 2003, according to Ward's data. Total vehicle registrations fell to 16,270,000 units, slightly below 2002's 15,580,000 results.
