More stories related to 2005 NAIAS Toyota Motor Corp. will show a touch of the exotic with the Lexus LF-A sports car concept among its offerings planned for next month’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

It answers the question as to which supercar the luxury division would unwrap first, a sports car or a sedan above the flagship LS.(See related story: Lexus Envisions Pair of Super Cars)

Lexus also will debut its ’05 GX 470 luxury SUV, which adds a more powerful 4.7L V-8 engine that makes 270 hp, up from 235 hp in the current generation. A new optional Sport Package will be available on the GX.

A limited edition of the Lexus RX 330 SUV, the Thundercloud, also will be shown. It features a Thundercloud Metallic exterior color and gray leather interior, as well as 5-spoke alloy wheels, a more aggressive front grille and Black Bird’s Eye Maple interior wood trim.

The auto maker also will use Detroit to show off its new ’05 Avalon fullsize sedan, set to go on sale next year. (See related story: Toyota Says Next Avalon Should Appeal to Younger Buyers)

The Toyota brand also will show a new crossover concept.
