Lexus also will debut its ’05 GX 470 luxury SUV, which adds a more powerful 4.7L V-8 engine that makes 270 hp, up from 235 hp in the current generation. A new optional Sport Package will be available on the GX.
A limited edition of the Lexus RX 330 SUV, the Thundercloud, also will be shown. It features a Thundercloud Metallic exterior color and gray leather interior, as well as 5-spoke alloy wheels, a more aggressive front grille and Black Bird’s Eye Maple interior wood trim.
The auto maker also will use Detroit to show off its new ’05 Avalon fullsize sedan, set to go on sale next year. (See related story: Toyota Says Next Avalon Should Appeal to Younger Buyers)
