Isuzu Motors Ltd. reports its fiscal first-half profit increased 44% over the same period a year ago, the same day it announces trading firm Mitsubishi Corp. is buying 11.75 million shares of the auto maker’s preferred stock, valued at ¥9.4 billion ($91 million).
