Mercedes-Benz U.S.A. names Alan McLaren vice-president, customer services, replacing Klaus Ulkann, who is retiring after 30 years with DaimlerChrysler AG.

McLaren will be responsible for customer service operations, engineering services, after-sales logistics and MBUSA’s customer assistance center.

An Australian native, McLaren has been with the auto maker eight years, most recently as managing director for DC-run retail operations for the Australia/Pacific region.

For the last two years, McLaren was responsible for sales and parts operations of Mercedes-Benz car dealerships, commercial-vehicle dealerships and body shops.
