PARIS – The engine control strategy Mercedes-Benz designed for its hybrid-electric S-Class coming to market next June will save fuel even on the highway. The M272 V-6 engine in the S400 Bluehybrid is tuned to the Atkinson cycle, in which intake valves are held open longer.
