Mexican manufacturers produced 152,516 cars and trucks in January, a decline of 2.8% vs. the 156,872 vehicles assembled during like-2001, according to Ward’s data. A slowdown in output for the domestic market takes the blame for January’s decline. Production for local sale was off 13.6% from year-ago’s 45,625.
