SHANGHAI — French tiremaker Group Michelin SA reportedly is in final negotiations to form a joint venture with Shanghai Tire and Rubber Co. Ltd. The Shanghai government already has approved the deal, reportedly worth US$300 million. The Chinese tiremaker, the country's largest maker of radial tires, views the potential deal as an opportunity to repay debt and increase profitability, reports say.
