VIENNA – Skoda Auto a.s. will introduce a new 1.2L 3-cyl. version of its Fabia small car this summer. The engine is made at Skoda’s new engine and transmission plant in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. The plant already makes the engine for shipments to Volkswagen AG’s plants in Slovakia and Spain, where it is installed into the new VW Polo. Skoda’s management still has not decided whether production of the current smallest 1L 4-cyl. engine for use in the cheapest Fabia will be continued.
