Renault to step up engine production SAO PAULO — Renault SA is expected to double the production of its engine factory inaugurated in Parana last year. Luc Alexandre Menard, president of Renault do Brasil, says the company initially planned to produce 150,000 units per year but looks to reach 300,000 in 2002, thanks to the devaluation of the domestic currency that lowered the cost of production.
