PSA recalls 200,000 Peugeot 406 models

PARIS, Nov 19 (Reuters) - French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen said on Tuesday it was recalling some 200,000 Peugeot 406 saloon cars due to a potential locking defect in the boot.

A spokesman for PSA, which in July announced it was recalling the cars but had not specified how many, said the firm had notified around half of those owners affected by letter and hoped to have finished the job by the end of the year.

The problem, now resolved, could affect models registered since 1999 and mostly applied to cars in Europe. Current production of 400 cars per day is not at risk, the spokesman said.
