MILAN, Aug 16 (Reuters) - An Italian press report saying Banca Leonardo's Gerardo Braggiotti was studying a merger of Italy's Pirelly Tyre and French rival Michelin was "totally without foundation", a person close to the bank told Reuters.
Earlier on Friday a spokeswoman for Michelin had declined to comment on the report by Finanza & Mercati.
