Russia's GAZ Group plans new $287 mln car plant

MOSCOW, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Russian auto maker GAZ Group said on Tuesday it plans to invest 200 million euros ($287 million) in the construction of a large plant which will start production in 2010. The plant, which is to be located in Nizhny Novgorod in central Russia, will produce 300,000 cars a year, including 45,000 Maxus light commecrial trucks and 255,000 GAZelle trucks, Oleg Gamov, a spokesman for GAZ Group, said.
