“With the new Mokka, Opel is the first German manufacturer to launch a contender in the growing subcompact SUV segment,” the auto maker says in a statement.
The Mokka will be available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Itis powered by a 4-cyl. 1.6L naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 115 hp or by a 4-cyl. 1.4L turbocharged gasoline engine that generates 140 hp. Opel also offers a 130-hp 1.7L CDTI turbodiesel.
The Mokka is 168.5 in. (428 cm) long and provides up to 48.4 cu.-ft. (1,372 L) of loading space.
The Mokka model name is inspired by the coffee beans of the celebrated Coffea Arabica variety.
“Mocha-based coffee beverages are sophisticated and cultivated, rich in character and full of energy,” Opel says. “Just like them, the Opel Mokka is compact whilst big in attitude.”
