STOCKHOLM, May 3 (Reuters) - Specialty steel and tool maker Sandvik posted first-quarter pretax earnings above consensus on Tuesday boosted by firm demand, not least from a booming mining industry.
Sandvik reported a quarterly pretax profit of 1.9 billion Swedish crowns ($265.9 million) versus a year-ago 1.5 billion and the 1.8 billion seen in a Reuters poll of 11 analysts.
