STOCKHOLM, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Specialty steel and tool maker Sandvik reported a bigger-than-expected rise in second-quarter pretax profit on Thursday, saying demand had remained strong in all market areas.
Quarterly earnings rose to 2.24 billion Swedish crowns ($294.3 million) versus a year-ago 1.77 billion and the 2.12 billion seen in a Reuters poll of 11 analysts.
