WASHINGTON, June 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Wednesday backed a plan to double the use of corn-blended ethanol in gasoline by 2012, rejecting a move to gut from pending energy legislation the federal mandate for U.S. refiners to use more ethanol.
