SKF says Scania's Ostling proposed as new chairman

STOCKHOLM, Feb 25 (Reuters) - SKF , the world's biggest bearings maker, said on Monday the vice chairman of its board of directors, Leif Ostling, had been nominated to become chairman.

The current chairman, Anders Scharp, had held the post since 1992 and had declined re-election, the Swedish firm said in a statement.

Ostling, who is chief executive of Scania , has been vice chairman of SKF since 2006.
