S&P raises, affirms Ford Credit unit notes

NEW YORK, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Standard & Poor's said on Monday it raised 20 classes of asset-backed securities backed by car loans made by the finance arm of Ford Motor Co. and affirmed 24 other classes of securities.

"The raised ratings reflect increased loss protection percentages due to the buildup of credit enhancement and the strong credit performance of the transactions," said Standard & Poor's Ratings Services in a statement.

These upgraded Ford Credit asset-backed securities were issued between 2000 to 2002.
