S'tomo Rubber sees H1 prfts on export growth-paper


TOKYO, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Japanese tyremaker Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd will post a major turnaround in the first half of 2002 with a group net profit of more than three billion yen ($25.04 million), the Nihon Keizai Shimbun said on Friday. Japan's third-largest tyremaker had originally predicted a group net loss for January to June, but was able to rebound from a net loss of 1.77 billion yen in the year-earlier period on the back of strong exports to North America, the paper said. ...
