MUMBAI, May 29 (Reuters) - Auto components maker Sundram Fasteners Ltd. said on Monday it plans to set up a unit in northern Uttaranchal state to make fasteners, water and oil pumps and metal parts.
The unit will be operational before March 31, 2007, the company said.
The company also plans to set up export-oriented manufacturing facilities in the special economic zone near the southern city of Chennai, it said in a statement.
The company did not give financial details of the projects.
Shares in the company closed 1.7 percent higher at 152 rupees in a firm Mumbai market.
