Sweden's Volvo 9-mo pre-tax profit beats fcast

STOCKHOLM, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Sweden's AB Volvo , the world's second biggest truck producer, on Thursday reported nine-month pre-tax profit of 1.28 billion Swedish crowns ($136.4 million), slightly above market expectations.

Analysts in a Reuters poll had expected the company's January-September pre-tax profit to come in at 1.20 billion. For the first nine months of last year, Volvo posted a loss of 1.32 billion crowns.

Volvo said it was concerned about the timing of a recovery in the world economy, where the outlook was uncertain, but saw opportunities in ongoing restructuring and product renewal.

Volvo reported nine-month net sales of 131.2 billion crowns, virtually flat on 132.0 billion a year ago.
