Tenneco posts higher quarterly profit


CHICAGO, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Auto parts maker Tenneco Inc said on Tuesday that quarterly earnings rose. Net income rose to $21 million, or 45 cents per share, in the third quarter, from $7 million, or 16 cents per share, a year earlier. Excluding one-time items, Tenneco reported earnings of 39 cents per share, while analysts polled by Reuters Estimates on average had expected 40 cents.
