Thai AAPICO Hitech sees 2004 revenue at 5 bln baht

BANGKOK, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Thai auto-parts maker AAPICO Hitech PCL said on Sunday it expects revenues to grow to 5 billion baht ($125 million) in 2004 from about 3.5 billion baht forecast for this year, thanks to a booming auto industry.

"Next year the automobile industry will probably grow 20-30 percent, and we will grow with the industry," chief executive Yeap Swee Chuan told Reuters.

"Our revenues should reach five billion baht," he said.

In May, the firm forecast rrevenues of about 3.5 billion baht for 2003.

Yeap said Thailand's automobile production should rise to between 800,000 and 900,000 vehicles from 740,000 expected for this year.

Analysts polled by Reuters Research forecast a net profit of 310 million baht for this year. AAPICO, 18.29 percent owned by Malaysia's Sime Darby Bhd , is a supplier of chassis to Isuzu .

On Friday, AAPICO shares closed unchanged at 150 baht, while the overall Thai stock market dipped 0.13 percent. ($1=39.88 Baht)
