Toyota to raise UK output capacity to 285,000 units

TOKYO, May 27 (Reuters) - Japan's Toyota Motor Corp said on Thursday it would raise the output capacity at its British plant to 285,000 units from 220,000 units to meet rising demand for its cars. Last year, the world's second-largest auto maker had said it would raise the capacity to 270,000 units, but Toyota said that was not enough to satisfy demand for the popular Corolla and Avensis models. The expansion will require additional investment of around 50 million pounds ($90 million) ...
