Toyota says hopes to announce new Canada plant soon

TOKYO, June 27 (Reuters) - The head of Toyota Motor Corp. said on Monday that the world's second-biggest auto maker hoped soon to announce plans to build a new assembly plant in Canada. "We're hoping to make an announcement shortly,"President Katsuaki Watanabe, who took his post last Thursday, told a news conference held to introduce the company's new management. Media have reported that Toyota would make an announcement on the plant this week.
