UK car hire firm Avis Europe names interim CEO


LONDON, Oct 28 (Reuters) - Europe's biggest car rental firm, Avis Europe Plc , said on Tuesday its deputy chairman Alun Cathcart would act as the company's interim chief executive while it looked for a permanent CEO. Avis announced the departure of outgoing chief executive Mark McCafferty in September when it reported a slump in first-half profit.
