UK's Osborne delays fuel duty rise, targets oil production

LONDON, March 23 (Reuters) - Britain will delay a planned tax rise on fuel until next year and introduce more permanent measures to soften the blow to motorists when global oil prices rise, finance minister George Osborne said on Wednesday. "We will delay the inflation rise in duty planned for next week until next year and also delay the April 2012 inflation rise until the following summer," he told parliament.
