UPDATE 1-Autonation reports higher third-quarter earnings


DETROIT, Oct 28 (Reuters) - Autonation Inc reported higher third-quarter earnings on Thursday and said it still expected 2010 new vehicle sales to be around 11.5 million units for the auto industry. The largest dealership group in the United States reported net income of $56.9 million, or 38 cents per share, compared with $65 million, or 36 cents per share, a year earlier.
