UPDATE 1-Turkey's Koc Group sees turnover, export boost

(Adds details, background)

ISTANBUL, April 18 (Reuters) - Leading Turkish conglomerate Koc said on Friday it was aiming to increase turnover by 33 percent in 2003 to 13.1 billion euros.

The group, which has interests ranging from carmakers Tofas and Ford Otosan , through banking to white goods brands Arcelik and Beko , is one of Turkey's largest.

Koc says its exports accounted for 6.5 percent of Turkey's total exports in 2002 and Group Chief Executive Bulend Ozaydinli told reporters the group aimed to increase that to 8.5 percent in 2003.

The group aimed to increase 2003 exports by 39 percent to 3.3 billion euros, he said. Revenues from Koc concerns based abroad would increase 36 percent to 4.4 billion euros.

Turkey floated its lira currency in 2001 during a financial crisis and many firms have since turned to export-based growth in a bid to compensate for a stagnant domestic market.

Koc Holding shares were 0.64 percent lower on Friday morning with the main index in Istanbul flat.
