U.S. gold falls early on weaker oil, up trend seen

NEW YORK, May 16 (Reuters) - U.S. gold futures dropped nearly 1 percent early on Wednesday on weaker oil prices, after the previous session's gains, but the precious metal was poised to move higher in the long run, traders said.
