The front end looks like the defunct Freestyle CUV
Maybe Jeremy Clarkston will like the new Z06 more than he did the ZR1?
Not too shabby for an old pushrod, huh?
Though I have no doubt that on 100% gasoline, it can hit 29mpg on the highway with an 8-speed.
I didn't think they still indicated voume by number. Just columns of vertical dashes and eventually it will state "max volume"
I have to agree. There is a lack of focus on fathers to teach their children (boys or girls) how to fix things. Instead a culture has been brought up that has no mechanical knowledge whatsoever. I...
Not really surprising. Even going back to the Focus SVT Hatchback from 02' to 04, hot hatches have always sold very well and exceeded OEM take rates.
You are correct. It's all in how you drive. Top Gear BBC proved that in certain circumstances a BMW M3 can achieve greater mpg than a Toyota Prius around the same road track at the same speed....
This is true, but output to the axles in AWD is still not the same as 4WD. Isn't it closer to a 65/35 or 70/30 split for front to rear?
Glad I'm not the only person that doesn't care for the split wing grill. Much prefer the grill of the final generation of the Mark VIII. Though the track driver in me wonders how bad the torque...
We are upon the start of generations to come who will never know the fun and joy that accompanies operating a vehicle with a manual stransmission. I weep for their loss.
Thanks Tom. You had us worried for a second that Jeep had lost their mind by not offering a manual to their enthuisiasts.
It's a Jeep. It's the brand. The take rate on their brand as a whole is larger than most other brands when offering both.
Used to be the manual was the standard and if you wanted joyless...
Two 4-cylinder engine offerings and there's not even a hint of a standard transmission in a Jeep. #fail
Great job offering a manual gearbox, though it would have been nice mated to the V-6 as well as the 4-banger. What's the diesel option going to run?
Not just you. Marketing guys that deal with stats and numbers all day think of those things as well.
I would say the replacement cost of an 8+ speed transmission will probably surpass the...
I fully understand. But for a large segment of truck customers, we want a truck that we can flog and it won't stop performing. We're not looking to buy a home.
So we need an increase of another 10mpg+ in 18 months? That's a massive stretch.
Great as the truck might be, for years they've been pricing out customers on the Super-duty segment.
Every car OEM will eventually be hunted down for emissions until each vehicle has a 'Mr. Fusion', similar to one a certain Delorean had....
Sure, put a gun to someone's head and you'll be amazed at what they're willing to do to get the barrel pointed away from them.
Sadly, those of us who have driven manual full-size trucks are a relic today. I think the take rate for that throwback would be around 5%. I would do it as well.
I learned to operate a...
I know owners of F-150's with the EcoBoost V-6 and they say it gets VERY thirsty when it's in boost.
Would love to see the real world mpg's of this 2.7L when you guys are able to test it and compare it to the 3.5L and the 5.0L. If you baby it, I bet it just might eclipse the mark set by the light...
The Top Gear BBC guys did that on their muscle car road trip in Reno with a Challenger SRT8 and a Corvette ZR1. Hillarious to see all the alarms go off. That's on the bucket list to do.
It's the kind of car that you'd take to a nice downtown area and give is some gas with the clutch in and set off a few car alarms with.
Part of me wishes they went the other way with the...
All in all, how much fun was it to test drive this thing? Flooring it is never a bad idea. Just make sure you're on a straight 1/4 mile each time. And yes, from a Gen-Y, that much power is...
Same could be said on how people pronouce Porsche. You either hear half of people say 'porsch" or 'porscha".
Pe-CAN or Pe-CON, right?
That's impressive power from both powertrains, but running between 14-17psi for boost? That's what's hampering the fuel efficiency. Not going to lie, I'd be flogging those motors all the time for...
Not too shabby for a stone-age "pushrod" engine, huh? There's more get out of them than people think!
