VDA says Europe new car registrations up in July

FRANKFURT, Aug 13 (Reuters) - New car registrations in July rose 6 percent in western Europe and 7 percent in Europe because of higher demand for diesel cars and strong growth in the new European Union countries, German auto association VDA said on Monday.

Registrations were up 21 percent in France, 10 percent in Italy, 5 percent in the UK and were nearly unchanged in Spain.
