The all-new version is significantly larger in all dimensions than the model it replaces and now offers room for an optional third-row seat that was not previously available. It is available in three trim levels – base, Sport and Limited – each offered in front- and all-wheel-drive configurations. A 166-hp, 2.4L I-4 is available in all trim and drivetrain configurations, as is a new 3.5L V-6 that develops 269 hp. An automatic transmission is standard with all engines, a 4-speed with the 4-cyl. and a 5-speed with the V-6. The new all-wheel-drive system has been designed to shift power from the front to the rear wheels more quickly than in previous applications. It also includes a low-speed locking feature that splits power evenly front-to-rear, but automatically disengages when vehicle speed reaches 25 mph (40 km/h). An automatic-locking differential is standard on front-drive variants. The standard stability control system is designed to interact with the new electric power steering to provide optimum driver assist under varying conditions.
