What’s New for ’11

  • The M-series is all-new for model year ’11.
  • It is powered by two new engines; 3.7L V-6 or a 4.5L V-8. Both engines feature variable intake valve timing and lift for improved efficiency and throttle response, as well as increased power and fuel economy than the 3.5L V-6 and 4.5L V-8 they replace. The 4.5L is also direct-injected.
  • Both engines are mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission that features a manual shift mode with downshift RPM matching, available in both front- and all-wheel-drive configurations.
  • Electroluminescent gauges, 7.0-in (178 mm) color vehicle information display, heated 10-way power leather front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth hand-free cell-phone interface, an intelligent key with push-button ignition, rear-view back up assist camera, one-touch up-down power windows, XM satellite radio and a 6-speaker audio system with USB port and automatic speed-sensitive volume control are standard interior features on all models.
  • All models also feature the Active Noise Control System, which generates sound-canceling frequencies through the audio system to reduce in-cabin engine noise.
  • The Premium Package adds a hard-drive navigation system with 8-in. (203-mm) touch-screen, XM real-time traffic and weather updates, Zagat restaurant guide, 9.3 GB music storage hard-drive, 10-speaker Bose sound system and heated steering wheel. The package is standard on the M56.
  • The new available blind spot warning system audibly warns the driver if a vehicle is in a blind spot when the turn signal is activated. The optional Blind Spot Intervention system warns the driver if the vehicle is drifting into a car in the next lane and applies selective braking to help the driver return to the center of the correct driving lane. It operates regardless of turn signal activation.
