EX grades of the Forte get a new 2.0L gasoline direct-injected 4-cyl. engine, making 173 hp. LX grades receive a 1.8L 4-cyl.

The Forte's back seat is roomier than before, although some growth comes at the expense of front-seat room.

Total trunk volume is down slightly from the first-gen Forte, but the opening now is 2 ins. wider.

Kia's second generation Forte compact car is a winning combination of improved looks, high-horsepower and improved features.
