What’s New for ’09
- Stability control is now standard on coupe and convertible variants and features an optional traction-control setting that allows for more spirited driving.
- A new speedometer, featuring a top speed of 160 mph (260 km/h), appears in the traditional, center-mounted position.
- ÇConvertible variants now are built on a new platform introduced for the coupe two years ago and use the same naturally aspirated and direct-injected turbocharged versions of the 1.6L in-line 4-cyl. engines as the rest of the lineup. They also boast improved visibility, a new roll bar and electro-hydraulic convertible top that can be operated at speeds up to 20 mph (36 km/h), as well as overall improvements to handling, fuel efficiency and performance.
- New to the lineup last year, the Clubman wagon enters ’09 unchanged with the exception of an optional traction-control setting (stability control was standard), while either roof rails or a rear spoiler are optional.
