What’s New for ’11
It is powered by an all-aluminum, naturally aspirated 1.6L 4-cyl. with dual independent variable valve timing, mated to a standard 5-speed manual or optional 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission. The Fiesta retains its European design cues and driving dynamics, thanks to specially tuned front struts, bushings and rear torsion-beam suspension setup. All models have standard stability control. Speed-sensitive electric-assist power steering is standard, and includes pull-drift compensation for highly crowned roads or windy conditions. In addition to stability control, other standard safety equipment includes 4-channel anti-lock brakes, dual-stage frontal, side and curtain side airbags, and a class-exclusive driver’s knee airbag, as well as seat belt pre-tensioners. A laminated windshield, enhanced door seals, hood blanket, special padding behind the instrument panels, recycled foam baffles in the pillars, and an acoustic headliner reduce interior noise.
