What’s New for ’12
The all-new Passat, designed specifically for the U.S. market, is the first model to be produced in the automaker’s new assembly plant in Chattanooga, TN.
A total of three engines are offered; a 2.0L Turbodiesel, a 2.5L in-line 5-cyl and a 3.6L V-6. The Turbodiesel is equipped with a standard 6-speed manual, while the 2.5L is mated to a standard 5-speed gearbox.
A dual-clutch 6-speed transmission is option for the 2.0L and 2.5L, and is standard with the 3.6L V-6.
Standard features include automatic climate control, power windows, cruise control, air conditioning, analog clock and audio system with MP3 capability and Bluetooth connectivity.
The dashboard makes extensive use of chrome trim, mirroring that of the new Touareg CUV.
