Volvo says to take over Nissan Diesel for $1.1 bln

TOKYO, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Swedish truck maker Volvo said on Tuesday it will offer 540 yen in cash per share for all the Nissan Diesel Motor Co. Ltd. shares it does not own, planning to make the Japanese truck maker a wholly owned unit.

The value of the tender offer is 7.5 billion Swedish crowns ($1.1 billion), Volvo said in a statement. Volvo owns 19 percent of Nissan Diesel which has agreed to the offer.
