Business Surging for EV Charging Provider Noodoe

Electric-vehicle charging technology specialist Noodoe reports a record number of orders for its charging stations through July, citing increased demand by hotels, casinos and real estate developers. 

Noodoe CEO Jennifer Chang says most of the new installations by the Walnut, CA-based company are in the western U.S., most notably Southern California and Las Vegas. 

“We’re not surprised by the record amount of new install orders in the U.S.,” Chang says in a statement. 

“The hospitality industry and commercial real estate developers are reacting to solid, sustained growth of the EV industry. In many markets, they are playing catch-up, their customers inquiring about easy-to-locate, easy-to-use EV charging stations.” 

Chang cites InsideEVs data showing 2018 was the best year ever for EV sales in the US, with 361,307 units sold – more than double from two years ago. 

“We have orders from small motels to major parking garages in Las Vegas casinos,” Chang says. “Hotel owners and retail developers are looking for ‘smart’ EV charging stations that make customers happy while supplying an additional source of revenue.” 

For charging site owners, Noodoe says it offers the advantages of both universal charging and automated operation. 

The Noodoe EV app supports universal charging without setting up an account. Drivers can activate the app with their smartphone using Apple Pay, Google Pay or credit cards (via encrypted transport security). 

The business operation is 100% self-service and totally automated. A sampling of Noodoe charging installations in Southern California includes 10 wall-mounts for the Sheraton Universal City, double chargers at the Hilton Palm Springs, garage installations at the Millennium Biltmore in downtown Los Angeles and undisclosed properties in Las Vegas and Canada.
