General Motors Corp. taps Jim Bunnell, a 28-year veteran with the auto maker, to fill the general manager vacancy atop its Buick-Pontiac-GMC division.
The slot opened up earlier this month with the unexpected departure of John Larson, who reportedly will take over as CEO of Escort Inc., a maker of radar detectors.
Bunnell 51, most recently was general manager of GM’s North Central region, a position he’s held since 2003. He began his GM career in 1979 at Pontiac, where he held jobs in finance, manufacturing, planning and sales. After a stint as a product planner for GM’s North American operations, he returned to Pontiac as a brand manager for the Sunfire and Grand Am.
Filling Bunnell’s post is Steve Hill, 46. He previously was executive director-retail planning and customer relationship management marketing.
Both appointments are effective immediately.
